Teresa Plowright lives on Bowen Island. Her science fiction novel Dreams of an Unseen Planet, first published in the U.S. and reprinted in Canada by Porcepic Books, was praised by critics and made the Locus list of recommended first novels.
"Plowright portrays genuine human beings with an honest eroticism
rare in the genre, and an overriding compassion." Locus
"A dreamy, extraordinarily sensual debut". Kirkus Reviews
She's also published short stories: "Out the Other Side" in the Prairie
Fire special edition on New Canadian Speculative fiction; and "Making
History" in Howe Sounds, a collection of fact, fiction and fantasy from
writers on Bowen Island. Last year, she finished a screenplay, Boy
Genius, (now being marketed by Lucas Talent). Her second novel, Into
that Good Night, fell victim to a publisher who failed to honour its
contract. And she's presently working hard on an epic about cats.
