AWAKENING

Sing, muse, child of nature
And through me tell the story
Of winning and losing
Hope and despair
Depths of love, all encompassing
blind spots, gentle servant
eruption like Krakatoa, gentle as summer
curiosity unquenched
Fire within passion
complexity, simplicity, demanding, giving
searching mind never still
(oh but a tree is peaceful because it stays in one place!)
Child of the Universe, just Being
I am that I Am,
the Master said, "Ye must be born again"
and so it is.
Doubt, fear, contempt, greed, guilt, anger, envy
become trust, honor, truth, humor, love, compassion
for every star a Truth.
seed it water it watch it grow.
Yearning, reaching, inspired, watchful and wakeful
glorious in the sunset in the night in the sun
over the span of ages
a new life has begun!

WE AREN’T AS SIMPLE AS WE LOOK

There’s a part of me that’s an innocent child
Running free with my hair blowing wild
Learning mysteries of nights and of days
Completely uncritical, singing life’s praise.
That part of me I (MOST) love and embrace.
There’s a part of me that’s a glorious woman
Wise and gentle, an evolved lovely human
Laughing and crying in response to life
Knowing what matters is not about strife.
That part I (YES!) love and embrace.
There’s a part of me that’s a miserable witch
Not at all pleasant and inclined to bitch
For the moment not noticing who I’m abusing
Out of control and it isn’t amusing.
That part of me I (gulp) lo-o-ve...
When I think about it, I’m always amazed
How, by not being aware,
I walk around dazed.
To love and accept each part sets me free
To keep on growing to a happier me.
